This season of Dreamleague is very stacked. Almost all top teams are participating in the event from all regions and competition is fierce. Let’s make a short analysis of the top favorites for the championship.
- Team Spirit @ 4.00 (Leetbit.io)
Team Spirit is currently The International champion. With their amazing roster, they keep providing amazing games and results. Their form is still very good, even after winning TI12. However, they did disappoint in this month’s BetBoom Dacha Dubai, taking only the 5th-6th position and place in the final rankings. Chinese Azure Ray is a team that threw them out of the tournament. Here in this tournament, they are top favorites, because of their consistency. It will be interesting to watch them in the playoff bracket.
- Gaimin Gladiators @ 6.00 (Leetbit.io)
Gaimin Gladiators are the top-ranked team from the EPT Leaderboard. With that, they’ve received an initiation to this Dreamleague as a top seed. 2nd place at last year’s ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, while again they didn’t go far enough in BetBoom Dacha Dubai, finishing just behind Team Spirit in the rankings. With a fresh position 2 player, Quinn, they are surely among the favorites, but honestly, I doubt they can take this tournament. I believe there are some CIS and Chinese teams here that are stronger than them at this stage. All eyes are on the playoffs.
- Falcons @ 6.00 (Leetbit.io)
Falcons are a new team on the scene. And they’ve entered the stage with an amazing 1st place at BetBoom Dacha Dubai. A 3-0 over Team Liquid was really impressive. Long-term, for me, there are still many questions about this team. But they could be a good underdog for all upcoming tournaments. They surely are one of the top 10 best Dota 2 teams in the world. We will see how this season will unfold for them. Could be interesting.
- Azure Ray @ 8.00 (Leetbit.io)
Maybe the strongest Dota 2 Chinese team at this point, Azure Ray is a team to stay. They won ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 in December last year and finished in 4th place in BetBoom Dacha Dubai this February. A strong Chinese power team is here to mess up plans for EU and CIS teams. Seems like they have found a perfect fit of Chinese players for this season. I think they can constantly be among the top 5 teams in all Tier 1 competitions this season, for sure. It will all depend on form, but in this tournament, I predict them in the top 4.
Dota 2 DreamLeague S22 – How to bet?
If you are not an outright odds and betting fan, there are always some other ways to watch and enjoy the Dota 2 tournaments while placing bets on your favorite team. Please let’s keep in mind that group stage 1 which is currently live is played in best of 2 format. This means we can have a 3-way result (2-0, 1-1 or 0-2). These outcomes are very hard to bet unless you go with map handicaps, which can make things a bit easier.
Group stage 2 will be played in a single round-robin format. Eight teams will play the best of 3 matches, which will be very interesting for betting. A lot of risks, crazy drafts, and unexpected results could happen there due to the format. At this point, it is good to bet map handicaps or Over/Under maps or just a winner if the odds are high enough for you.
Playoffs are played in best of 3 formats with best-of-5 grand finals. This is the part which I enjoy the most. Teams are always playing different games and styles in the playoffs because it’s to be or not to be for everybody. The ideal environment for betting. Multi-bets on the favorites are also a good choice here. For the grand finals, I would suggest going with Over 3.5 / 4.5 maps, depending on which teams will play of course.
