Their last big win was in December last year when they won BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 with 2-0 over FaZe.

With real youngsters like Donk with a 1.38 rating and sh1ro with a 1.32 ranking, they are a real powerhouse now, and a really scary team. By winning the IEM Katowice 2024 trophy in February this year against FaZe, they are looking incredibly strong. 3-0 vs Faze surely proved that they can beat even the strongest teams in the world. I’m sure that they will be among the top circle of favorites and that they will continue their good run.

A lot of people would say that FaZe is a top 1 favorite. With their scary lineup and experienced coach, they will surely go far. 2023 was surely one of their best years, and they’ve continued decent form from 2022. The transition to CS2 was harsh for them, as they already had some hard losses in 2024, such as their 0-3 clean sweep from Team Spirit at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024. Faze is a team where no individual stands out, but they play in real time and they cover for each other. Hopefully, karrigan can make some improvements in his ratings, as basically, he is the weakest link in the FaZe right now.

Who would have thought that MOUZ would be in the top 5 of CS Major favorites? Being ranked as 4th best team in the world, they are slowly climbing to the top, that’s for sure. With their very strange but good mix of players, they are among the favorites in this tournament. Honestly, I think they will stumble somewhere, as I think teams like FaZe, Vitality and Spirit are much stronger than them right now, and experience is not on their side either.

2nd CS team is in the top 5 of CS Major favorites. VP hasn’t had any big results since Flashpoint Season 2 in 2020. Yes, they have won some tournaments last year, but minor ones. I don’t think they can win this tournament, but surely they can make some big moves and shots against top teams and maybe surprise someone. Especially in the Elimination stage of the event. Maybe a real underdog to follow, together with Cloud9 for sure.

With the new Counter-Strike 2 match format, this will be a hard tournament to bet. There are so many changes, as the first team to win 13 rounds is taking a map. Makes matches faster, more adrenaline-packed, and harder to make any bigger comebacks.
